Certificate in Athletic Development in Children & Youth Mentors (FETAC Level 6)
Dublin County Board & NADA (National Athletic Development Academy) are holding a free workshop & information night for all mentors of Teams U15 and younger to introduce this fantastic course. It is designed to give an insight into the various topics covered, introduce you to the basic principles of conditioning programs and give you a further understanding of the learning outcomes and of the benefits such a course can have for your team and club. Target level: Mentors interested in improving concepts to improve Athletic Development in Children & Young People (U15 and below).
Prerequisite knowledge: Presumes no prior knowledge of science or physiology.
Entry Requirement: Individuals must be a current member of a GAA Club. Must be over 18 years of age
Delivery Mode: Lecture and practical sessions delivered over two semesters comprised Athletic Development in Semester 1 (Oct 2011 - Jan 2012) and a project in Semester 2 (Spring 2012).

Semester one Module:
- Introduce to Athletic Development (AD) for Children & Youths
- Understanding the practice & application of AD
- The 9 critical elements of a Holistic AD programme
- Components of Athlete Development
- Development of Coaching Philosophy in Children & Youths - Introduction to Sport Science for Youths
- Assessment & correction of Functional Movement
- Practical Application of AD with Children & Youths
Semester two Module: Semester two Comprises of a practical AD project
