Aim/Focus:

  • To develop reaction and first touch control.

How to Play:

  • Players work in groups of 2 with a sliotar per group.
  • One player stays on the end line while the other stands opposite at the 14m line.
  • On the coaches whistle the player on the 14m line turns and sprints to the 21m line and turns back.
  • As they turn, the player on the end line plays the sliotar to them. (either along the ground, chest high or in the air depending on the coaches instructions).
  • The player must gain control of the sliotar and pass back to the player on the end line.
  • They then run back to the 14m line and the exercise is repeated.
  • The roles are switched after about 45 seconds continuous work

Progression

  • The player on the end line may pass at any height or manner they wish to. (i.e. improves reactions)
